This time of the year makes me think of when I taught school and how eager the children are to meet their new teacher and get to know their classmates. I grew up in Minneapolis where my graduating class was approximately 700- 800 students. It was my grade school friends that meant the most because of the class size. As time went by and I started in the classroom, I always felt as if the youngest of our students weren’t learning enough about our nation’s first ladies. I will admit that I have always been in love with them. I feel as if the first ladies are like our nation’s mothers. She watches over the president and tries to put her stamp on legislation such as making sure the young kids get a proper breakfast and fresh food.
